ANNE RICHARDSON is a New York–based writer, director, and actor who uses genre to put the private self under pressure. No matter the genre, she returns to people whose public lives no longer match who they are; people forced to choose between the safety of the role they have mastered and the risk of being fully known. She makes character-driven stories with emotional precision, audience propulsion, and cinematic force.

Richardson wrote and directed the award-winning short I’ll Hide, You Seek, produced by veteran filmmaker and producer Michael Hausman, whose credits include Amadeus, Brokeback Mountain, and Gangs of New York. Hausman remains a valued creative collaborator and sounding board as Richardson develops her original film and television work. Through that collaboration, she learned that protecting a vision requires clear decisions, trust with collaborators, and the discipline to deliver on time and on budget.

Her produced screenwriting credits include Baby Obsession, Murder in the Vineyard, and Friends in Deadly Places. Most recently, she appeared as Dr. Maya Salter in Ryan Murphy’s FX series The Beauty, alongside Rebecca Hall. Richardson brings an actor’s understanding of behavior, a writer’s command of structure, and a director’s visual point of view to work with a singular point of view—and the discipline to get it made.
